In Bhagalpur district of Bihar, a Kalyugi husband crossed all limits of cruelty in his greed for dowry. Before the marriage, she also took Rs 7 lakh cash and a motorcycle as dowry. But even this did not satisfy him, so after just one year he brutally beat his wife to death. While committing this misdeed the young man did not even think of his 9 month old daughter.

The matter has come to light from Maheshi village of Sultanganj block of the district. Here, after killing the newly married woman, the husband left the body in the house. Then he absconded with his entire family. This case of murder of newly married Yasmin Praveen (22) started spreading like wildfire in Sultanganj block. The maternal house of the deceased woman is in Kazichak Mirjanhat of Bhagalpur. Father Gulfaraz said- Yasmeen is my elder daughter, I had got her married to Mehboob Alam, a resident of Ward 4 of Maheshi village, on 10 May 2023. But since marriage, he used to beat Yasmin.

The father of the deceased said- Both of them also have a 9 month old daughter. My daughter was living in her maternal home for the last one and a half years. Her husband Mehboob worked in a steel company in Kolkata but on Friday he called and said that I have returned from Kolkata. Take Yasmin to her in-laws' house. On the advice of her husband, we took her to her in-laws' house in Maheshi.

Further, the father of the deceased told that when we tried to talk to the daughter by calling on Tuesday, her husband said that do not call here, everyone is dead here. But still Yasmin's mother kept calling throughout the night. Nobody picked up the phone. Then on Wednesday afternoon the newlywed's mother-in-law called us and said that your daughter has fainted. Then we all reached her in-laws house Maharishi. There he saw that everyone was absconding and Yasmin Amrit was lying in a room. Then we informed the police about the incident. Then the police reached the spot and sent the body to the referral hospital, where the doctor also declared him dead.

Arjuman, the mother of the deceased woman, told the police - We spent Rs 7 lakh on our daughter's wedding and gave all the stuff to our son-in-law. A motorcycle was also given along with him. Still, he used to beat his daughter for dowry after marriage. Many times he kept pressuring me to give more money. Now even murdered him.

In this case, the police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. There were many injury marks on the body of the woman who was found dead by the police. Police say that the investigation of the case has started and further action will be taken after the post mortem report comes.
