It seems that there is no better time to start booking your holiday breaks than now, as a new analysis by Which? Travel has discovered that for the summer are on the rise.
Which? Travel analysed over 8,000 holiday prices and the prices for the warm holiday season, and according to their results, prices for summer 2025 are up 4.2% on average in comparison to last year.
Popular destinations including Italy, and Cyprus are to see the highest spike in prices, the analysis showed.
For a week-long holiday at one of the three stunning destinations, tourists will have to fork out an extra £80 or even more per person.
According to the consumer group, Cyprus package holiday prices have upped by 6.4%, Portugal's by 6.8%, and Italy's are the highest of the three, with an increase of 7.4%.
The continued high demand for holidays is the main reason behind this hike. Providers will set their prices as high as customers are willing to pay. Additionally, the increasing cost of hotel energy and aviation fuel have also contributed to the issue.
Which? also noted that their research could also reflect an increase in the availability of luxury accommodation or higher board prices, like all-inclusive, compared to other countries.
While package holidays are getting more expensive, there are still ways to enjoy yourself abroad without spending too much. Rory Boland, editor of magazine Which? Travel, said: "Booking early is almost always your best chance of securing the best rate - so now is the best time to get the cheapest prices on summer holidays."
Booking an all-inclusive holiday could also save you some pounds as they include all your meals and extras. However, if you do, it's important to pick your provider wisely as some may try and make you pay additional prices for extras like snacks or cocktails.
Deciding where and when to go will also of course save you money, with parts of Spain, including the Canary Islands, are among some of Which? Travel's cheapest destinations. Moreover, travelling around late August or September will benefit your wallet even more.
Rory Boland added: "Take the time to shop around, and if you're holidaying with kids, consider travelling in the last week of summer holidays, as we've previously found this can be the cheapest week in the peak season."
