Rasam is a famous dish of South India, which is eaten with great fervor in every corner of India. It is not only amazing in taste, but is also beneficial for health. Material:
- Tomato: 2 (thick cut)
- Tamarind: 1 teaspoon (soaked juice)
- Rasam powder: 1.5 tablespoons
- Sugar or jaggery powder: 1 teaspoon (as per taste)
- Turmeric Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: as per taste
- Coriander leaf: 2 tablespoons (chopped)
- Curry Leaf: 1 Fist
For tempering:
- Ghee or oil: 1 tbsp
- Mustard: 1/2 teaspoon
- Whole Red Chili: 2
- Cumin: 1 teaspoon
- Curry Leaf: 1 Fist
Method of preparation:
- Soak tamarind in hot water for 30 minutes and take out its juice and keep it aside.
- Take 3 cups of water in a pan and add tomatoes, add a few drops of oil and a pinch of salt and cook until it becomes soft.
- Then add tamarind anus, turmeric, torn curry leaves and half coriander.
- Now add water to it and boil it. When it comes to a boil, add rasam powder, salt and sugar or jaggery and mix well and boil it again.
- Heat ghee or oil in a pan to add tempering to the rasam. Add mustard seeds, red chili, cumin and curry leaves to it.
- Mix this tempering in the rasam. Then close the heat.
- Remove in serving bowl and decorate it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
