Actor Prateik Babbar tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Priya Banerjee on Friday, February 14, 2025, on the occasion of Valentine's Day. The couple's wedding was an intimate ceremony that took place at Babbar's mother, the late actor Smita Patil’s home in Bandra, Mumbai, surrounded by their 40 closest family and friends.Priya's mangalsutra has a special connection to her mother-in-law, Smita Patil. According to Filmfare, it is crafted from Smita Patil’s earrings, a piece of jewellery she was meant to wear after Prateik’s birth.As a tribute to her memory, Prateik transformed it into his ladylove's mangalsutra.Prateik and Priya's wedding festivities began on February 12 with a mehendi ceremony in Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel & Residences.The couple shared a series of photos from their intimate wedding on social media with he caption read: "I'll marry you in every lifetime #priyaKAprateik."The duo got engaged in November 2023 after nearly three years of courtship. Talking about the proposal, Prateik revealed that he had originally planned to propose to Priya on her birthday, November 28, with an exclusive dinner at their favorite restaurant. However, he decided to pop the question two days earlier at their home, where they have shared beautiful memories together. "I woke up because I heard him choking. He was on his knees and gave a whole speech.
