Rajasthan Royals’ opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal got a second chance in the RR vs KKR clash at Guwahati after Harshit Rana dropped a follow-through catch.
The incident took place in the final delivery of the fifth over bowled by Harshit Rana. Rana bowled a slower ball fullish outside off and Jaiswal is through his shot early. Jaiswal looked to play it through mid-off and ended up spooning it towards the bowler. Rana jumps in his follow-through and goes for a two-handed overhead catch, but the ball doesn’t stick.
Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders both still haven’t registered a victory in this Indian Premier League 2025 season. Notably, In their first match this season, KKR conceded their second-highest powerplay score (80/0) in IPL history, only behind the 93/1 by PBKS during their record 262-run chase at Eden Gardens last year.
Speaking of the match, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson opened the batting attack for the Royals, while Spencer Johnson opened the bowling attack.
Jaiswal secured a first ball boundary after the ball top-edged and rushed to the boundary rope. While the duop started to build a partnership, Vaibhav Arora in the fourth over dismissed Samson for 13 runs and drew the first blood for the Rajasthan Royals.
In the next over from Harshit Rana, Jaiswal survived a catch as Rana dropped the catch. Jaiswal ended the first powerplay with a six and pushed Rajasthan Royals to score 54 runs for a wicket loss.
