Mucharla Trimurthulu, a former district president of the Students Federation of India (SFI), called for corporate private schools to adopt the government-mandated tuition policy.
Under the sponsorship of SFI, pupils at a business school here sat on the ground in protest of the government’s regulations. Trimurthulu said during the demonstration that the school is collecting excessive fees in contrast to the rates set by the government. They are demanding hefty fees from parents for the 2025–2026 school year, which range from Rs 30,000 for LKG pupils to Rs 55,000–75,000 for class 10 students. Parents are concerned.
He questioned why costs should be set by each educational institution. He said that each school should have a list of fees so that parents are aware of the government-imposed cost schedule.
In order to ensure that the government’s fee policy is followed in schools, he suggested that authorities establish a coordination committee of students, parents, and school administration.
