On Tuesday evening, , several areas of Mumbai had light rains, which provided respite from the hot and muggy weather. Light rain fell in parts of the city, including Wadala, Matunga, and Chembur. Maximum temperatures of 33.5 and 37.7 degrees Celsius were reported at the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Santacruz meteorological station and Colaba observatory, respectively.

With the exception of Solapur, the IMD issued yellow and orange advisories for Wednesday that warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls across almost the whole state. Thirteen districts are under its orange alert: Satara, Nashik, Pune, Ahilyanagar (formerly Ahmednagar), Beed, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Bhandara, Chandrapur, and Gondia. These districts include those in western Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha.

In addition, the IMD warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and mild to moderate rainfall in Palghar, Thane, and Raigad, Mumbai, on Wednesday. Moderate to severe weather is indicated by an IMD yellow signal, whilst an orange alert suggests “be prepared for action.”
