‘ Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil ’, starring Jiiva , which hit the big screens on January 15, is running successfully in theatres. In fact, the film has earned more than twice the money it did during its opening days.
‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ Day 4 collectionsOn Sunday, January 18, which marked the film’s fourth day in theatres, ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ earned an estimated Rs 5.25 crore, according to early estimates by Sacnilk. With this, the film's total India net collection jumped to Rs 15.15 crore.
As it ended its first weekend at the ticket windows, the film marked an overall 59.26% occupancy in the theatres. The morning shows saw a good 46.23% footfalls, followed by afternoon, evening, and night shows, recording 67.01%, 69.43%, and 54.36% respectively.
Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Madurai, Vellore, Dindigul, Trichy, Salem, and Pondicherry saw a huge turnout on Sunday, with afternoon, evening, and night shows recording the highest turnout.
Jiiva’s film wins hearts ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’, directed by Malayali filmmaker Nithish Sahadev, marks the director’s Tamil debut. Nithish Sahadev is best known for his Malayalam blockbuster ‘Falimy’ featuring Basil Joseph, Jagadish, and Manju Pillai.
The film is set in a fictional village in Tamil Nadu, where Panchayat President Jeevarathinam AKA Jeeva (played by Jiiva) is clinging onto his chair and spearheads every occasion in the village. When a wedding and a funeral collide on the same morning, Jeeva tries to manage both and instill peace. A comedy of errors, the film turned out to be one of the promising entertainers released during Pongal 2026.
Jiiva plays the lead role, while actors Ilavarasu, Thambi Ramaiah, Prathana Nathan, and Jenson Dhivakar are seen playing some of the pivotal roles in the film. Jiiva’s performance in the comedy-drama has won hearts, and the film has impressed audiences across generations.
