Nationwide 'Fairer Share' Bonus 2026 - what you need to know:

Nationwide Building Society is set to continue its popular 'fairer share' bonus scheme in 2026, with millions of members expected to receive £100 payments.

The world's largest building society has distributed these lump sum bonuses for three consecutive years and plans to extend the initiative into 2026, depending on how it performs financially.

The Money Saving Expert team is advising members to act now to "maximise your chances" of qualifying for the 2026 payment.

In previous year members must have met qualifying criteria by March 31, making the coming months crucial for eligibility. In 2025, roughly £400 million was shared amongst four million Nationwide members.

According to Nationwide's website: "If you bank as well as save or have a mortgage with us, you could benefit from our Fairer Share Payments."

The building society states: "Some members have received £300 in Fairer Share Payments since 2023. It's our intention to make a payment every year, but this will depend on how we perform financially."

To qualify, experts recommend using your current account before March 31, keeping it active, and maintaining a minimum of £100 in savings or mortgage balance.
