New Delhi: Amazon Pay has expanded its insurance services inside the Amazon app, allowing users to purchase car and two wheeler insurance directly from their smartphones.

The move brings Amazon deeper into the financial services space linked with automobiles. The company has partnered with insurers such as HDFC ERGO, ACKO, and ICICI Lombard to offer vehicle coverage across India, including smaller cities and towns.

Amazon Pay expands vehicle insurance services in India

The new offering targets a massive segment of India’s vehicle market. According to the company, the platform now serves more than 250 million two wheeler owners and about 30 million car owners across the country who can purchase insurance through the Amazon app.

The process is fully digital. Vehicle owners enter the registration number of their car or motorcycle, select coverage options, and complete the purchase online.

Policies are issued digitally and appear inside the customer’s Amazon account after purchase.

Digital insurance with nationwide garage support

Amazon Pay says customers using the platform can access cashless claims at more than 9,000 network garages across India. These garages operate across metro cities and many tier 2 and tier 3 locations including Coimbatore, Kota, Gwalior, Jamshedpur, Jhansi, Udupi, Sambalpur, Alwar and Bharatpur.

The company says the system removes several friction points that usually slow down insurance purchases.

Key features include:

  • No physical inspection required for most two wheelers

  • Fully digital policy issuance

  • Comparison between multiple insurers

  • Cashless claims at large garage network

The platform also highlights that a large number of India’s two wheelers remain uninsured, especially in smaller cities.
