The Detroit Pistons capped off their first-round series against the Orlando Magic on Sunday with a Game 7 116-94 win advancing them to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Considering the team was down 3-1 in the series, this was a significant feat for Detroit, and that shows in the numbers.

According to NBA researchCade Cunningham and Tobias Harris made history on Sunday and became the 11th duo in the history of the NBA to each total more than 30 points in a Game 7.

The Pistons also became the 15th team in NBA history to come back from down a 3-1 deficit in a postseason series.

Pistons royalty Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton and Dwane Casey were also in the building for Game 7 to watch the excitement go down.

Cade Cunningham keeps rising to the occasion for the Detroit Pistons

It’s been a series jam-packed with honors for this team. On Friday, Cunningham became the first Detroit Pistons player since Isiah Thomas to record more than 30 points and more than 10 rebounds in an NBA playoff game, according to StatMuse.

Now, the Pistons will advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals for the first time since 2008.

Matt Hanifan of Sports Illustrated notes that Cunningham “didn’t look sped up, nor did the rest of the Pistons’ ballhandlers. They exploited the right matchups in the halfcourt and didn’t try to put any unnecessary passes in harm’s way.”

“It’s good to feel like we did our job and achieved what we planned. They really took us to the limit,” Cunningham said in his postgame interview. “We grew a lot because of that series, because of that team. Full credit to them.”

The Detroit “Bad Boys” are back in 2026 and carrying on that tradition that this franchise was missing for years. Now, it’s onto the next round.
